3GPP AAA compliant solution

Partitionware offers a complete EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol) and AKA (Authentication and Key Agreement) SIM Agent solution. This authenticates users seeking to access a Wi-Fi network on the basis of their existing SIM credentials and establishes the right level of security. It makes joining Wi-Fi networks as easy and safe as registering for a mobile network and creates a seamless user experience.

Fully compliant with 3GPP AAA procedures, it allows information to be retrieved from databases in the mobile network, such as the HLR, AuC and HSS. This is checked against information held in the SIM and ensures that correct security keys are created that enable session data sent over the Wi-Fi network to meet the encryption levels that are required in mobile networks.

The keys from the HLR (or AuC or HSS) and the SIM are compared in the EAP/AKA-SIM Agent solution, which interacts with the access point to complete registration via EAP and Radius protocols. Once the process is complete, users can automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network, without the need for cumbersome login or registration pages.

The EAP/AKA-SIM Agent can be associated with Partitionware’s SS7 MAP Gateway or Diameter Agent, depending on the network in which it is deployed.
